Silence is golden
Inspired by a request from my mom, Rest was designed to be a beautiful and intuitive way of managing when your Android phone or tablet should be quiet. It features quiet hours for when you are sleeping, as well as automatic silencing during calendar events for calendars of your choice. It also includes contact-based exemptions and ‘emergency call’ detection (twice from the same number in 10 minutes).
Rest’s background is dynamic, selecting a random colour every day and altering its luminosity to match the rising and setting sun. The quiet hours selection clock is a completely custom widget designed using the Android Canvas, and subtle animations help instruct the user in its use.
